It's kind of like how Kushner got his security clearance.
He couldn't do the application correctly himself, so his daddy came in and cheated for him.
Didn't he lie multiple times on that application and he kept having to redo it?
Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois asked Phalen, "can you recall if there has ever been an applicant having to submit four addenda detailing over 100 errors and omissions being able to maintain their security clearance once those errors and omission have been identified?
He had to update his Financial Disclosure Form 40+ times due to omissions and lies. Once or twice may raise an eye brow but isn't out of the norm, 3 or 4 times would have them doing a deeper check into you and probably firing you, 5+ is plain ridiculous, 40+ times is next level crazy. In literally any other administration Kushner wouldn't even been given a interview for the position let alone keep it after lying 40+ times.
If I took a shit for every lie this administration has told, even scandal they were involved in, and every tweet trump has sent I would be standing on top of Mt. Shit the new tallest peak in the world.
I lived in DC, they do NOT mess around with Clearances. That is a good thing. I basically conked out after my Poly. I was as honest as I could be, but all the horror stories my friends told me kept me up all night before it, and it’s terrifying. It’s designed to be.
I left DC, it bothered me what I was billed at.
Now? I want to go back. China and Russia in particular are either stealing our tech, or manipulating our elections. I have the knowledge to help prevent them from hacking us.
Schools should also get into trouble in some way for doing this shit. Fuck rich people thinking they can do anything they want, because they are "better than us" so tired of this shit, I hope these people who scammed their kids into college get screwed to the wall.
NPR just did a report on this issue this morning. Could be there start of something, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Rich people own the country as long as citizens United exists. Unless we start seeing forfeiture of an immense amount of wealth for these people, to actually scare wealthy people, all I'm seeing is slap on the wrist.
Need proof Republicans don't serve the people? Here it is; permenant tax cuts for the ultra wealthy and corporations paid for increased tax burdens on the remaining citizens. The GOP plans to slash entitlements like Social Security to help pay for these tax cuts and exploding deficit. To keep themselves in power they engage in the most un-American political strategy of voter suppression while using dark money from who-knows-where to fund their campaigns.
But if they occasionally wave a bible around and thump it here and there, the Evangelicals will vote for the most vile, hedonistic short-fingered vulgarian to be President. The rest of their followers buy the BS they sell regarding the cause of their financial troubles being immigrants or brown-skinned people in general.
We need to open these people's eyes so that they can see the ultra wealthy pulling the strings and manipulating their views.
It is funny because Kushner's father was a huge Democratic donor, which is one of the reasons Chris Christie went after him and a bunch of major Democratic figures in New Jersey when he was US Attorney.
The Dems don’t get it: Republicans get Power, knowing the consequences are a few years down the road. Democrats get elected, mostly fix things, but optics are poor. Repeat
Pelosi is smart as hell. She’s playing the long game. No Impeachment. So she’s not viewed as divisive.
She has a good idea what’s coming from SDNY Prosecutors; The Mueller report.
She’s privy to almost everything as Speaker.
Name of the podcast?
This was my first response too. Are they not responsible to vet their students even a little bit?
$$$$$$$$$ is all the vetting they need. That's how we continually end up with billionaires who cant even spell on a device with auto correct. Money surpasses the need for intelligence, making actual intelligent people miss their opportunities because we need to make room for dumbass over there because his mom and dad donated 20 times the tuition.
The list of intelligent millionaires and billionaires seems to rapidly be getting smaller.
They are private organizations and only have a profit motive. Education is secondary to that.
It's not like dozens of people are looking over and vetting every student application. If you put enough money into a few of the right hands they'll figure out a way to get around the larger system.
I think the trick is that people shouldn't be allowed to amass so much wealth that this sort of thing is possible in the first place. Yes, becoming successful should come with some reward. But that doesn't mean we can't limit said reward.
I'm personally for incentivized redistribution. Using tax law to make it beneficial for the execs to redistribute more of the profits to the workers. CEOs shouldn't be allowed to give themselves millions in bonuses after having to cut wages and layoff employees. Such actions should be heavily taxed. Instead, if the CEO wants a good bonus he needs to have improved the total salaries of his workers.
"Pull yourself up by your bootstraps."
On the bright side, there's a decent chance Kushner subsidized the education of someone who's going to help take him down.
I mean, who really believes George W. Bush got into his ivy league school on merit?
2 Ivy League schools*
Shit you're right. Harvard AND Yale. Quite the bootstrap pulling individualist indeed /s
He MAY have had a bunch of Saudis tortured and robbed...and there's Kashoggi
How much did Trump's daddy pay to get him into the undergrad program at Wharton?
It's also bs that he constantly says Wharton w only an undergrad. Makes it sounds like he has an MBA.
He also flunked out of Fordham and managed to get into Penn which wouldn't happen ever for a normal kid.
And for some reason he's afraid to release his school transcripts, yet he called for Obama (the editor of the Harvard Law Review) to release his. Trump is such a blowhard Dotard POS.
Don Jr and Ivanka and Tiffany also went to Penn. Eric to Georgetown. I don't know about Tiffany, but the other three have six brain cells bouncing around between them.
At least Tiffany's smart enough to keep her mouth shut.
Or Ivanka. I was staying at a Trump hotel (before Trump ran for president and before I knew much about him) and there was a video looping on the TV where Ivanka was inviting guests to stay at their other hotels "around North America and Canada". That made me realize that she thought North America was some Northern region of America. I no longer wonder how she got into Wharton.
America is an oligarchy, what do you expect.
I listened to a podcast where a guy who worked as a professor at a ivy league university said that almost every student from super rich families pay the school for the child to attend and pass all their courses. The teacher can't do shit to a rich stupid student but give him a passing grade then only later refer to him as the dumbest student ever
How "good" can these ivy leagues really be if they're just packed to the brim with bratty rich cheats?
Anyone have his SAT scores and GPA? I want to compare.
Remember when Ivanka didn't know what the word complicit means?
Smartest people my ass! I want to see everybody in the Trump administration's SAT's, including Donald's!
Why do we have a dopey cunt trying to fix peace in the middle east rather than someone actually smart?
Fuck this baby faced pecker head!!
I’m shocked. SHOCKED.
Well not that shocked..
A literal parasite.
Money over ethics, it's the way the world has always worked. I am surprised that it is shocking to those who read these stories.
That kind of "donation" is considered to be acceptable unfortunately.
...you gave a university 2.5M so that your kid could enter (illegally0? Why not just give him the 2.5M and let him start a business.... where do these people come from?!?!
Why would you give a really dumb person $2.5 million to start a business? It's better to pay for the diploma so they can burn down other people's businesses -- at least then they'll get paid something.
Pull yourself up by your bootstraps!! Or just pay to play.
The US is like an EA game. Mostly pay to win.
I know and appreciate that Reddit thinks this guy is a dick, but what's the verdict out in the political and business world?
They can't all think he's doing a good job?
So, Harvard is shitty. What does that have to do with Trump?
Like yesterday's news was some sort of isolated incident.
Let's get trump's scholastic records and check to see how much his daddy paid off the college to put the orange dipshit in school.
Harvard has an endowment of 36 billion dollars. Jared Kushner isn’t the only one who bought his way in. That’s how Bush got into Yale. Money talks and bullshit walks.
Where do Betsy DeVos's kids go again?
A true self-made man.
Helping your child's find his or her way into a school with a modest "donation" has a long and well established history. It is an old money way of doing things, and really benefits everyone.
Buying your kid's way into schools by "bribery and cheating" is just disgusting! New money troglodytes, think they can cheat the system! This cannot stand!
Who knew reddit would finally disagree with affirmative action? Not wanting people who do not have the GPA nor sat scores to get into some schools?
it's not cheating. He did what Harvard allows. Don't shift the blame towards him, blame Harvard for allowing it in the first place.
What was that line about taxes, again. " "You shouldn't have let me cheat"?
It’s actually still cheating and he is to blame for knowingly and willingly taking someone else’s spot who worked their ass off
Why hold him ethically responsible for the choices he's made?
Low standards FTW. Typical conservative.
Weird false dichotomy to employ...Jared?
So, yes, Jared Kushner is a product of wealthy parents funding his education and marrying up. Basically, Jared Kushner is a thot.
This article is supposed to be trusted? Why did the author not provide any proof for his claims?
Wtf is Root?
The source is a book called “The Price of Admission” by Daniel Golden. I learned that by reading the article and clicking on the sources. Have another look.
