Sun in his eyes and limited tort
He was looking at sun pictures on his phone? Glad op is safe. This is why we need lane filtering allowed atleast at stop signs.
bullshit, sun in his eyes, you guys stopped
as if that a reason to slow down, and drive with caution.
if you can't see why are you pushing a 2 ton weapon down the street, doe dick?
Glad you're okay OP.
Thank god lane splitting is now legal in Utah..
Lane splitting seems so scary tho. Also has its own problems.
At low speed getting sideswiped is nothing compared to getting crushed. Biggest problem with lane filtering is the twats that’ll get jealous and then tailgate you, or the twats that’ll intentionally pull out in front of you. Both mitigated by slow speed filtering
I lived in California for a couple years where bikes are splitting lanes going 70+ mph. Someone switches lanes suddenly or swerves a bit and that’s a big problem.
The fact that you're even allowed to filter at 70mph is beyond me. But filtering at 20mph with standing or slowly moving traffic has been known to reduce rear end collisions, which can be fatal to a motorcyclist.
You're not but people do it anyway. It's supposed to only be for low-speed traffic situations.
For a speed Delta of 15mph.
Filtering means stopped. Splitting means moving.
If you are splitting at 110 when traffic is at 100 is as safe as splitting at 40 in traffic at 30
Or filtering at 10 in traffic at 0
This is why Lane filtering should be legal
and if Lane splitting was legal in your state then it would have never fucking happened because you would have been at the front of the fucking line and getting ahead of the pack of idiots behind you.
Every study on lane splitting shows there's less deaths but more minor crashes (fender bender) from drivers striking cyclists by merging without looking.
Lane splitting and filtering are deeply needed.
This is one of my worst nightmares as a biker.
At a certain time of year on one certain road you can't see the road for over a mile (it's a hill) and everyone has to drive 5 mph the entire time going up it. It's brutal.
5 mph is 8.05 km/h
And this is why I am 100% for lane splitting, there is no reason to be sitting like that waiting to be sandwhiched, this happens all too often.
I had that, almost hit the guy in front of me at a light. I literally couldn't see even my own dash clearly the glare was so bad.
If only someone would invent something you could wear to reduce the amount of sun that goes into your eyes...
not quite...looks like a ZX6R. Frame has Kawi stamp on it.
Hey I am glad you made it out alright. I hope you are doing okay and not in too much discomfort.
The sun reflecting off of his phone screen was incredibly bright, give the guy a break.
He didn't need to be following so fucking close either. PREVENTABLE COLLISION.
I assume you were parked close to the car in front of you? Lucky
There is a simple solution. It's called sunglasses. Use them damn it. And clean the inside of your windshield, it gets off gas from the dash.
Some cars even have sunglass holders.
Sunglasses should be a mandatory part of the setup of the car, along with the spare tire and triangle
Damn. Still, OP, anything you can walk away from...
